Callaway Steelhead Plus

Steelhead woods were pretty good, but Callaway proved everyone wrong with the Steelhead Plus. These clubs have got Callaway's Variable Face Thickness Technology and a shiny new paint job.

What's the big deal with these woods?
The immediately obvious difference between the steelhead plus and the steelhead is the colour. Unlike Callaway's approach to all their previous gunmetal grey woods, Callaway painted all but the face of the Steelhead Plus a dark shade of blue.

Callaway's Variable Face Thickness Technology boosts energy transfer between club and ball on solid hits while still getting the most out of off-centre hits. The positioning of a weight chip has been tweaked for improved trajectory and control. Some of the features from the original steelhead woods have been kept like the three-piece construction and hosel-less bore-through shaft.

How do they look?
When you take these clubs out of the bag and take of the headcover they look great in the new dark blue. These woods are easy to align to the target and they are a very good size for steel woods, bigger and deeper than most of their competitors.

How do they feel?
These clubs have got an extremely solid feel but they could also be described as heavy. If you are a player that is used to more lightweight clubs then you should probably give these clubs a try before you buy.
