The tungsten weighting technology of the Hawkeye Titanium Woods has been adapted to create the Callaway Hawkeye irons. The weight is concentrated in a specific area of each clubhead to allow the precise placement of the center of gravity for optimal trajectory and maximum forgiveness.
Each of the Hawkeye Irons is cast with two cavities: The first is a multi-layer
cavity back. The second cavity is a technological breakthrough in golf club design.
This hidden weight port runs the length of the clubhead's sole and extends upward
behind the impact area, and it is home to the Callaway Tungsten-Weight Matrix.
The unique double cavity design in the Callaway Hawkeye irons positions all weight where it helps the most. The first cavity is a multi-layer cavity back incorporating Callaway's exclusive 360 varied under cut chanel. The Callaway Tungsten Weight Matrix is comprised of a mixture of metals, the key ingredient being tungsten, in the form of small, uniformly-sized tungsten spheres. The weight cavity in the Hawkeye irons is filled with these spheres. Then dense molten metal is injected into these cavities to lock the spheres in place.
This weighting system creates a center of gravity lower than any other Callaway Iron.
